FACTS and INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING COVID19 INFECTION AND DIABETES for my diabetic patients.

1) Diabetes patients have same risks of getting COVID19 infection as non diabetics.

2) People with Diabetes have higher chances of getting severe complications from COVID19 if they get infected.

3) Diabetes control is very important as it decreases chances of severe complications and increases chances of recovery.

4) COVID 19 is more serious illness than seasonal Flu and has no vaccination as yet. It is always better to vaccinate yourself with Flu and pneumococcal vaccines for better immunity.

5) Diabetes patients should maintain social distancing and sitting long time in crowded OPD also may increases chances of cross infections from other patients.

6) All Routine follow up consultation should be avoided unless an emergency.

7) Healthy food, regular exercise and strict Diabetes control will help the patients by keeping their immunity better.
